In the UK, High Speed Rail 2, (London to ‘North’) is surrounded by a number of questions regarding construction technologies which can minimise impact route. The rail industry in UK has vast experience based with ballasted track, but this not necessarily most appropriate choice for new high speed when crossing problematic soils. This paper aims investigate use different track types (ballasted and ballastless) influence they will have on underlying soil areas predominated non-engineered mudrock backfills, relics UK’s mining heritage. Mudrocks are class fine-grained siliciclastic sedimentary rocks. Structural performance railway strongly depends level stress that transmitted ground must be reduced an acceptable deterioration if utilised effectively. main objective initial conditions dynamic permanent deformation under physical conditions.
